We have two volunteering
opportunities
within Portsmouth Mind.
empowers
and supports people to form sustainable links with their
local community through 1:1 consistent support and encouragement.
It is aimed at people who are socially isolated as a
result of experiencing mental distress. We require volunteers
to work with service users in the community and their
own homes, with a view to reducing social isolation
and promoting independence. This could include help
with using public transport, joining a community group
or taking up a new hobby.
— we require volunteers to help us in
the day to day running of the club, to partake in activities
and support service users.
No previous experience is necessary, we merely ask
that people believe in our values and principles, and
can

convictions. This will not necessarily prevent people
from doing work for our organisation and any information
which you give will be kept in strictest confidence.
People are also required to complete an Enhanced Police
Disclosure form.
